How do we get service envelopes? Is there a charge?

Service envelopes are provided, FREE! Simply call or email and request envelopes. Also, your newly serviced scissors are returned in a mailer/envelope which can be used for your next service.

Are there special telephone numbers for service & sales?

Which brands can be serviced by HIKARI®?

HKR/HIKARI Scissor Factory services ALL brands. If you send us a scissor that we can't repair, the scissor will be returned to you with a technical evaluation stating WHY? and any monies that you sent refunded.

Do you ever service "in salon"?

NO! - with the exception of certain shows, HKR/HIKARI technicians only work in our factory. You will NEVER find a certified HKR/HIKARI service technician working from a van or truck.

Are other people trained to service Hikari's®?

NO! NO! NO! - While other people may claim to: know how to service HIKARI's®, have worked for HIKARI®, have been trained by HIKARI®, HKR/HIKARI SCISSOR FACTORY is the ONLY Authorized Service Center, and we are the ONLY technicians who are FACTORY Certified and "Know What We're Doing" when it comes to servicing HIKARI® Scissors.

What if somebody else services my HIKARI® scissors?

The good news is that we can most likely fix your HIKARI® and restore it's edge, accuracy, and "feel". It may take us longer than usual to repair it, and there may be an additional charge - send it to our office for evaluation. Also forward the contact information for that person or company to our offices immediately.

 

 

 

What is the warranty period, and what's covered?

ALL HIKARI® scissors are backed by a one year warranty. During this period, we will service scissors for free! ($10 charge for return shipping, handling and insurance applies) This warranty even covers scissors that have been dropped or accidentally damaged! (Warranty service must be done at our office/factory)

How do I send in scissors for warranty service?

Simply send the scissor to us like a 'regular' service, and include a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase, plus a check/money order or credit card information for $10.00 to cover the return shipping, handling & insurance.

How long does it take to get my scissors back?

Standard shipping is by UPS Ground, and we ship from our factory in Southern California. UPS delivers in 1 to 5 business days, depending on your location. 2nd Day & Overnight Air Delivery options are available at an additional charge - please call or email for current rates.

I just got my scissor back from being serviced, and it doesn't cut right - what's wrong?

First... don't panic; we stand behind all of our work. Review the 'Care & Maintenance' information that was enclosed with your scissor. Check the tension adjustment of your scissor; often, parts are replaced during service, and some of these parts may "settle" or "seat" during shipping. Also, be aware that your scissors will most likely feel different than when you sent them in (they're sharp now!)

OK, I've confirmed the tension and checked my cutting technique, what if I'm unhappy with my sharpening?
